Tech choices that keep you sane

Choosing the right tools for your startup isn't about being trendy—it's about reliability and speed.

Every week there’s a new framework or library that promises to solve all our problems. It’s tempting to jump on the bandwagon, especially when you’re starting something new. But after a few years of building products, I’ve realized that “trendy” usually equals “unpredictable.”

When I’m picking a stack for a project, I look for two things: reliability and community. I want to know that if I run into a bug at 2 AM, someone else has probably already fixed it and posted the solution on a forum somewhere.

That’s why I tend to lean towards things like PostgreSQL, TypeScript, and Flutter. They might not be the “newest” kids on the block, but they work, they scale, and they let me focus on building features instead of fighting my tools.
